I'm Hein Puth, the founder of Warky Devs. I've been writing software since 2006 — two decades across industries, stacks, and databases — and I bring all of it to every project I take on.
My Journey
My journey in the tech world began while I was still in school, where I started working with Linux. It was during this time that I pursued my LPIC (Linux Professional Institute) certification, solidifying my expertise in Linux systems.
I earned a diploma and degree in Information Technology, Programming, and Business Studies. Additionally, I became a certified Cisco engineer and completed extensive training in various programming languages and SQL database engines, including Oracle, Microsoft SQL, and MySQL. This comprehensive education laid a solid foundation for my career.
While contemplating pursuing my master's degree, I briefly tutored at the university, teaching and helping students with programming. However, I soon realized that my true passion lay in development, and I decided to pursue it full-time.
My journey has taken me through various industries and technologies, from modding games like CS1.6 and Half-Life Deathmatch to crafting immersive online experiences. I developed websites for companies using PHP and jQuery back when that was the popular stack.
Delving into the vehicle tracking industry, I rewrote major parts of their backend systems and managed MySQL databases. I developed the tracking sites in PHP, honing my skills in system integration and real-time data processing.
My passion for innovation led me to explore new horizons, including writing C++ desktop tools, contributing to open-source projects, and immersing myself in the world of Linux.
Since 2014, I've been heavily involved in Debt Counselling Software Development. I've written tools and systems to manage multi-location installs, led the conversion from Microsoft SQL to PostgreSQL, developed financial systems, and performed numerous integrations. That collaboration continues today — developing new web solutions with our partners and pushing the technology forward.
With over 13 years of experience, I consider myself an expert in PostgreSQL, leveraging its power to build robust and scalable solutions. I'm currently putting new languages on my stack, trying and leveraging the correct tools for the job, staying at the forefront of technology.
